It’s only been a couple hours since NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced a lifetime ban on Los Angeles Clipppers owner Donald Sterling, but people are already lining up to take his job!
Well one of the people looking to fill the possible vacancy is media mogul David Geffen, who is know for being one of the founders of DreamWorks SKG as well as record labels such as Asylum Records and DGC Records!
Of course, Donald is still technically the owner of team for the time being, but the commish made it VERY clear he would be looking to get the 22 votes he needs from other owners in the league to force him to sell his team! Once that happens, it sounds like David will be happily waiting with his checkbook!
Right now, the Clippers are estimated to be worth around $575 million, which is definitely in his price range considering he’s worth about $6.2 billion himself!
However, he might have to fight others like Magic Johnson and his buddies at the Guggenheim Partners who have also expressed interest in possibly buying the franchise!
Of course, we’re getting a tad bit ahead of ourselves as Donald hasn’t been forced to sell the team yet, but anything would be a significant improvement at this point!
