David LaChapelle's Lawsuit Against Rihanna Is Going To Trial!

Fashion photographer David LaChapelle will get his day in court after a New York City judge ruled he can continue pursuing his lawsuit against Rihanna.

US District Judge Shira Scheindlin noticed the similarities between LaChapelle’s images and those allegedly recreated in RiRi’s S&M music video.

However, it wasn’t a complete win for the photographer.

The only thing LaChapelle can sue for is copyright violation. The other claims of trade-dress infringement, unfair competition and unjust enrichment were all dismissed.
