That’s so soon — but it doesn’t feel TOO soon. After 22 years (we were kidding about the thousand years earlier), it really does feel like it’s time. And we’re sure he’s looking forward to taking up woodworking or golf or whatever retirees do!

As for when Stephen Colbert will officially take over, the word is that won’t be happening until the fall. We’re sure there’s a lot to plan and set up, even if Stephen’s last show on The Colbert Report is an early-ish Dec. 18th this year!

So true, and we’re sure he’ll be missed.
