Whoa! Way To Be Completely Wrong & Borderline Racist, Delta Airlines! Check Out Their Controversial Tweet After USA’s World Cup Win!

Wooooo!!!!
The US won their opening match in the 2014 World Cup!
We’re so excited! Nothing can ruin this moment!
NOTHING!
Oh, except maybe this…
Delta Airlines just HAD to go on Twitter after the United States’ victory over Ghana last night and post their own congratulatory message, slash, attempt to tap into a topical incident to make their multi-billion dollar company seem more relatable, thereby allowing them to capitalize on the patriotism potential customers are currently feeling.
Too bad the tweet they sent out was super wrong and borderline racist…
Take a look:

See what’s wrong here? No, it’s not the visible giraffe penis. We thought that too.
The problem is that there aren’t any giraffes native to Ghana. Their representation is basically just an African stereotype that paints the entire continent as a scene out of The Lion King.
Expect it’s not. Ghana, for instance, is on the West African coast, while the lovable long-necked animals are found scattered throughout the continent, primarily in south and east.
Way to go, Delta.
The blowback has been fierce and the airline has since deleted the controversial tweet and replaced it with an apology.
They write:

WTF?!
Good luck to all teams??
What happened to all that American spirit you had last night?
C’mon, Delta! Get your shizz together!
