He had some pretty rare and important pieces in his possession.
As Dennis Hopper has passed, his collection of artwork was auctioned off this weekend at Christie’s in New York. Of the over 40 pieces sold off, there were some rare paintings that went for a lot of money including a portrait of the actor by Andy Warhol and works by Robert Graham and British graffiti artist Banksy. In the end, the Hopper estate made over $10 million off of the lot.
There is said to be another auction of Hopper’s artwork in January. Wonder if his money-grubbying ex-wife will try to get her hands on the profits of these things?
