Denver Broncos Player Asks Judge To Hold Secret Court Hearing

Perrish Cox
A Denver Bronco’s cornerback charged with sexual assault is asking a judge to hold a court hearing in secret because allowing the public and media to attend could taint a jury.
Perrish Cox was arrested on December 9th for an alleged sexual assault that occurred on September 6, but the details of the allegations are unknown because documents in the case have been sealed.
While major news outlets like the Denver Post, The Associated Press, and the New York Times oppose the move, the NFL player’s attorney is arguing that allowing the public and media to attend the preliminary hearing, where authorities will provide a judge details of the evidence, would affect Cox’s right to a fair trial.
We understand your right to a fair trial, Perrish, but this is what happens when somebody in the public eye is accused of sexual assault.
People are going to want to know about the details.
