The world of punk rock music is sending love to the band Falling in Reverse, as it was revealed their founding guitarist Derek Jones died at the age of 35.
Falling in Reverse lead vocalist Ronnie Radke confirmed the news on his social media accounts Tuesday. Alongside a series of photos of Jones throughout his life, he wrote:
“I’ll never forget when you picked me up from jail in your old tour van to start falling in reverse. Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever. Rest In Peace Derek Jones. My heart is broken.”

Jones’ passing comes months after his fiancée Christina Cetta died in November 2019 after an eight-month battle with cancer. The cause of his death is unknown.
The California native had devoted his life to music. Before joining Falling in Reverse in 2008, Jones was the lead guitarist for hardcore group A Smile From The Trenches. He actually played for both bands until 2010, when Radke got out of prison after serving over two years for probation violation.
