Deperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has been tapped by ABC to produce eight, 35-second spots for Sprint that will play out as if it were a weekly soap opera.

WTF?!

“They’re kind of like the old Taster’s Choice commercials, but we added a lot of wicked dark humor, murder and adultery and betrayal,” says Cherry of the commercials that will air once a week starting with the Housewives premiere on September 27th.

“It’s very Desperate Housewives,” adds executive producer Sabrina Wind. “It was shot on our set, with our crew, and written by our writers.”

The spots will star soap actors Rebecca Staab and David Chisum in a “murderous love triangle,” but expect to see them cross over as extras on Desperate Housewives.

We’re sure they’re pissed!
