It’s over for Michelle Williams and Chad Johnson.
The split comes just nine months after the former Destiny’s Child singer and her 47-year-old fiance got engaged. The timing couldn’t be more awkward, since the now former-couple’s joint reality TV show documenting their relationship is merely a month old, and is still airing new episodes on OWN TV.

News of the breakup came on Friday — courtesy of Williams’ Instagram Story — where she told her fans and supporters that right now is a time for healing:
“I still remain fearless. I guess I still remain single. Things didn’t work out. The healing that needs to take place is a must! I don’t wanna destroy another relationship. Blessings to him, his family and ministry. #FEARLESS”
Again, the timing of it all is jarring considering fans of Chad and Michelle are still watching their love story play out on the small screen. But it may not be a total surprise since viewers saw Michelle break up with Chad twice over three months, as documented by the show.
As we previously reported, the Fearless singer willingly checked herself into a mental health facility earlier this year, seeking treatment for her long-standing battle with depression. Williams told People back in October that her quick engagement to Johnson unearthed some pretty negative emotions from her past.
Breakups are never easy, and we hope the 38-year-old continues to prioritize her health and wellness during this difficult time.
