HBO has heard your cries, dear readers, and is finally developing a Dick Cheney miniseries!
Okay, so maybe we weren’t exactly asking for it, but it DOES sounds pretty inneresting!
Here’s what it’ll focus on:
The mini, which will be based on the bestselling book and the Frontline documentary The Dark Side, tells the story of Richard Bruce Cheney from his early days as Donald Rumsfeld├óΓé¼Γäós prot├â┬⌐g├â┬⌐ in the Nixon administration, to the nation’s youngest Chief of Staff under President Ford, to serving as Secretary of Defense under George H.W. Bush, through two controversial terms as Vice President under President George W. Bush. According to the producers, the project will center on Cheney’s “single-minded pursuit of enhanced power for the Presidency (that) was unprecedented in the nation’s history.”
Hopefully it’ll be as raw as it sounds!
What’s more fantastic is that they have Rick Cleveland penning the show, who has an Emmy with Aaron Sokin for their writing on The West Wing, and who worked on perviously amazing shows like Six Feet Under!
With Rick behind it, absolutely we’ll watch!!
Now the question is, who will they get to play Cheney??
