Judge Rejects Diddy's Gag Order Request Ahead Of Trial -- But Imposes THIS Demand On The Rapper AND The Feds!

A federal judge in New York has rejected a gag order proposal from Diddy in the case being made against him involving charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. And now, as the disgraced music mogul continues to grapple with the fast fade of his business empire, he must also contend with this major courtroom stumble.

On Friday, according to court documents first obtained by Page Six, judge Arun Subramanian rejected a request previously filed by the rapper’s team that demanded government officials be banned from leaking information to the media while the Bad Boy Records founder continues to languish behind bars ahead of his May 2025 trial. However, Judge Subramanian did adopt a similar gag order that was nevertheless separate from the one requested by Sean Combs‘ attorneys!

Per that outlet, Judge Subramanian adopted a separate order insisting that federal agents, investigators, and the rapper’s legal team alike must follow all laws forbidding them from leaking grand jury proceedings that could potentially meddle with the mogul’s ability to get a fair trial. So, despite rejecting Diddy’s request, the judge still wants everybody involved in the case to LOCK IT UP!

In his Friday decree, Judge Subramanian wrote specifically that Diddy’s request had been unfounded:

“To be clear, this order isn’t based on a finding that there has been any wrongdoing thus far, as the Court has made no findings at this juncture relating to defendant’s allegations that information related to the case has been leaked. The point of this order is to help ensure that nothing happens from now on that would interfere with a fair trial.”

And the judge continued on with this ominous warning:

“The Court will take appropriate action for any violation of the rules.”

Yikes!

All this follows an accusation earlier this month levied by Diddy’s attorneys against the feds in which they claimed government officials leaked that hotel hallway security camera footage of him abusing ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura back in 2016 to the media earlier this year. Those docs from Diddy’s team alleged that government agents handed the video over to CNN back in May in a purposeful attempt to “mortally wound the reputation and the prospect of Sean Combs successfully defending himself against these allegations.” The mogul’s filing earlier this month went on:

“Rather than using the videotape as trial evidence, alongside other evidence that gives it context and meaning, the agents misused it in the most prejudicial and damaging way possible.”

The feds quickly denied that they were the ones who leaked the clip, though. They responded to Diddy’s assertions with their own letter to Judge Subramanian, writing in part:

“The Government was not in possession of the video before its publication by CNN. There is thus no colorable factual basis for the defendant’s claim that the Government leaked the video to CNN, let alone that it was leaked ‘in violation of grand jury secrecy.'”

But now, even though Diddy lost his specific gag order request, the judge nevertheless wants EVERYBODY to keep quiet over the next six-ish months. Thoughts?! Reactions?? Share ’em (below)!
