Disney Delays 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3.' Indefinitely...

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 Canceled Delayed Indefinitely Disney Fired James Gunn

Sorry, Marvel fans — looks like there’ll be no Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 after all.
At least, not any time soon!
Disney rushed to fire writer-director James Gunn after a couple leading alt-right Twitter voices dug up some terribly poor taste jokes he had written around 2009.
Despite knowing about his awful tweets and his raunchy previous film work, the company had decided to go ahead with his hiring after meeting him, leading to two incredibly successful films which together made over $1.6 billion.

But after some alt-right Twitter pressure (they also spread rumors about Gunn being “another Hollywood pedophile” using the bad jokes as evidence — this is apparently their go-to strategy now), Disney quickly caved and fired him.
Now the production crew in Atlanta has also been dismissed as Marvel Studios has put the film on hold indefinitely — which in Hollywood terms is about an inch away from dead.
The company insists they’re just taking their time looking for another filmmaker to finish the trilogy. A source told The Hollywood Reporter:

“The timeline has been pushed out.”

Recently rumors came out Disney and Marvel had internally discussed — and rejected — the idea of walking back their decision to fire Gunn.
The cast has supported Gunn, most notably Drax actor Dave Bautista, who has said he will ask to be recast.
Gunn was a vocal Donald Trump critic who called out the alt-right for their treatment of the Parkland shooting victims just before the tweets came out.
He has not tweeted since his firing.
