Well, we wouldn’t be surprised seeing as Divergent IS chock-full of post-apocalyptic goodness, has a strong female lead, lots of angsty LOVE, and so many fantastical, science fictionary fun, and sad times!!
Lionsgate, the movie company that’s made bagillions off of book-to-film franchises such as Twilight and The Hunger Games, wants you AND potential investors to know that Veronica Roth‘s futuristic in-progress trilogy WILL be just as successful — perhaps even MORE so — if it were to be made into a flick than both HG and the glittery vampire tale that makes ladies swoon!
Apparently, sales of the first book in the Divergent trilogy, which is set to be released as a film potentially starring The Descendants‘ Shailene Woodley, is higher than the first novels in both The Hunger Games and Twilight collections…
Sooooo basically it’s gonna mean big BUCK$$$ for anyone who wants to front money for the film!
OOOO we can’t wait until this project gets confirmed (and hopefully released in March 2014!) and we can begin talking directors/writers/cast!!!
Plus, we ADORE Divergent AND it’s sequel Insurgent, and are waiting with baited breath for Roth’s final installment!
