Divorce Rates Lower And Education Higher In States Recognizing Same-Sex Marriage

Hmm, we wonder what the correlation here is…

Some studies link age. If marriage takes place later in life, the maturity level is better suited for commitment.

Even more studies link the level of education. The higher the education, the better the marriage.

D’Vera Cohn, senior writer at the Pew Research Center, states:

From what I understand from the research, people who take the time and have the discipline to complete a college degree or more advanced education├é┬¡├é┬¡├é┬¡–those personality traits are also useful in sustaining a marriage.

Other studies find the better the education, the better the community support.

One particular study found for every additional one percent of a county’s population with a degree, there was a near equal decrease in support for the banning of gay marriage.

Daniel Smith, who researched the study at The University of Florida, states:

[Higher education] increases exposure to those who are different. Studies show very clearly that the more educated people are, the more tolerant they are of differences.

So basically, two things…

The majority of educated Americans support gay marriage.

The majority of same-sex grooms and brides DO believe in the sanctity of marriage since they’re less inclined to divorce.

Something to ponder, world. Something to ponder…
