Doesn’t seem like they do.
When Paramount’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra opens this Friday, not a single critic will have viewed the action flick before the general public!
The studio decided not to have a critic/media screening of the flick before its release.
But, why?
“After the chasm we experienced with Transformers 2 between the response of audiences and critics, we chose to forgo opening-day print and broadcast reviews as a strategy to promote G.I. Joe,” says Paramount’s vice chairman, Rob Moore.
Is that an indirect way of saying they’ve got a stinker on their hands and would rather not tarnish the film’s rep before it even opens????
Sounds like it!
