This is such terrible news.
An 8-month-old Labrador retriever named Luna was electrocuted and subsequently killed while walking over a manhole cover in Providence, Rhode Island.
Nick Penna drove by and stopped when he saw the frantic dog owner as the poor pup convulsed and howled in pain in the middle of the street.
He told reporters:
“We thought maybe she had some glass in her foot or there was a frozen piece of ice in her foot because was just howling and looking at her feet.”
Unfortunately, after they tried to pick the dog up to move her they realized it was much worse than that.
“I felt the same current of electricity coming through my fingers. I said this is electrical in nature. I said something is going wrong with the dog standing on top of this manhole cover.”
Luna died after she arrived at a veterinarians office 35 minutes later. So sad!
Apparently, there was a short in a frayed wire underground connecting to a nearby pole and Luna was standing in a puddle which conducted the electricity.
