Dolly Parton was dealing with a few serious health issues in the days leading up to her death, per new reports.

According to brand-new Tuesday afternoon reports from People via TMZ first, the beloved music icon was battling kidney and autoimmune issues in the days and weeks before she died earlier on Tuesday at age 80.

TMZ was first to report the heartbreaking news, revealing hours ago that Dolly had been admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville early on Friday morning. And per that outlet, Dolly remained hospitalized there until her death Tuesday morning. So incredibly sad.

As we’ve been reporting, Dolly’s death was announced on Tuesday by her nephew, Bryan Seaver, who shared the news in an Instagram video.

Her loss, of course, marks the end of an extraordinary life and career for one of the most recognizable and influential figures in country music — and really, all of music.

Our hearts remain with Dolly’s family, friends, loved ones, fans, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind an enormous musical legacy, and will undoubtedly be missed by millions.
