Dolly Parton Makes EXCITING Announcement Amid Health Struggles!

Dolly Parton is heading to… BROADWAY!

Amid her health struggles, the iconic country music star announced that the production of Dolly: A True Original Musical is officially coming to Broadway in New York City. She said in a video posted to Instagram on Tuesday:

“Now, this isn’t about a story about sparkle and shine on the outside. It’s about where I really come from, what I’ve lived, what I’ve lost, what I’ve loved, and how I’ve found my way. What I’ve lived, what I’ve lost, what I’ve loved, and how I found my way and told it in my own words and through the music that’s been part of me every step of the journey.”

Dolly explained the musical will feature some of her beloved tracks. According to the show’s website, it includes Jolene, I Will Always Love You, 9 to 5, and Coat of Many Colors. She also wrote new hits for the production! How exciting! She concluded in the clip:

“This really is a dream come true. I can’t wait to share it with all of you.”

The show, directed by Tony winner Bartlett Sher, begins previews at the St. James Theatre in December and opens on January 19, 2027, which is her birthday! What a way to celebrate turning 81! It is unknown who is starring in the show, but Dolly won’t be. Fans shouldn’t be shocked by this since the singer has been dealing with health problems lately. She even had to cancel her Dolly: Live in Las Vegas residency months ago because she wasn’t “up to stage performance level” yet.

Hopefully, Dolly is able to enjoy this huge career move in the upcoming months! We can’t wait for it! See the announcement (below):
