Eminem had a major fan in Dolly Parton.

Along with the letter itself, Eminem shared a very touching message about how even though he never got a chance to meet Dolly, she was still “an icon” to him — even with his own personal rap music background.

You can read Eminem’s powerful message, as well as Dolly’s letter to him, for the very first time (below):

“I’m sorry we never got a chance to meet, but getting this note from Dolly really had a an impact on me. She definitely didn’t have to take the time to do it. Even for a kid who mostly listened to rap music, she was an icon. A superstar in every sense. Rest easy Dolly. And thank you for the kind words.”

Wow!

What an incredible and heartfelt letter.

Fans reacted accordingly in the comments, too (below):

“I’m not crying, we’re all crying.”

So touching…

It turns out that Dolly really is who we thought she was — one of the best and kindest celebrities out there — and that makes her loss all the more tragic.

Rest in peace, Dolly.
