Donald Trump Ordered The Braille Be Removed From His Elevators: 'No Blind People Are Going To Live In Trump Tower'

Donald Trump Tower Elevators Braille No Blind People

There’s may be a bottom floor on Trump Tower, but there’s no low Donald Trump won’t sink to.
According to a new article in the NY Daily News by Barbara Res, the former vice president in charge of construction at the Trump Organization, the future president once yelled at an architect at his building over the elevator plans, demanding to know what the little dots were next to the numbers.

When the architect told him it was Braille, Trump ordered him to get rid of it.
The beleaguered contractor told him:

“We can’t. It’s the law.”

Trump reportedly yelled back:

“Get rid of the (expletive) braille. No blind people are going to live in Trump Tower. Just do it!”

Wow.
For what it’s worth, Res says she never believed Trump expected the Braille to actually be removed. She thinks he just liked yelling at people who worked for him, and that he found inane demands were an easy venue to pick on employees.
Unfortunately for the U.S., Trump is the president now, and his “employees” are obligated to serve, and to execute his demands — no matter how unreasonable.
As Res write:

“The “just do its” are getting done. And they are not directed at carpenters and painters or fan magazines. Now they’re about alienating allies, cozying up to dictators and employing dangerous nonsensical economic tactics.”

Eesh. Scary stuff.
