Trump Rally Comic Was Told NOT To Say Another Horrible Thing -- Here's Why That's So Important!

Donald Trump Rally Tony Hinchcliffe Proof Kamala Harris Comment

If you’re like us, you got pissed off all over again after seeing footage of that travesty of a political rally on Sunday.

Donald Trump and his cronies decided to do a big rally at Madison Square Garden — apparently to evoke the American Nazi rally held there in 1939, right before WWII. There certainly were a lot of similarities. It was all closer to hate speech than to policy. Like Stephen Miller saying “America is for Americans and Americans only” — a Hitler quote with America subbed in for Germany. Or Trump himself once again calling the press “the enemy of the people” and talking about his political rivals as “the enemy from within.”

But obviously the biggest headline grabber was Tony Hinchcliffe. The D-list comedian was chosen as one of the opening speakers (along with RFKElon Musk, and Tulsi Gabbard) not because he’s super popular but because he’s on message with the gang. And that message? Let’s hate on other races! His comments about Puerto Rico are already infamous. He joked:

“I don’t know if you guys know this, but there’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. Yeah. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.”

Yeah… Awesome party ya got there. Oof.

Well, it turns out it started out even more inflammatory! Four Trump campaign sources told The Bulwark on Monday there absolutely was stuff they deemed off-limits — including calling Kamala Harris the C-word! YES, REALLY! One insider claimed:

“He had a joke calling [Vice President Kamala] Harris a ‘c**t. Let’s say it was a red flag.”

Oof. Well, that’s certainly raising the ol’ bar for civility in politics, huh?

As positive as it is that the Trump campaign stopped him from saying that — you know, bare minimum but positive — it’s also kiiiiiind of a smoking gun. Why?

OK, so Trump obviously won’t apologize, but his team knows how bad this is for them. Hundreds of thousands of Puerto Ricans are reacting to the comments, including some with HUGE followings — namely Jennifer LopezRicky Martin, and Bad Bunny. So the Trump campaign is trying to distance the former POTUS from Hunchcliffe. Senior adviser Danielle Alvarez released a statement to the New York Times saying:

“This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”

We argued the campaign definitely owns the insult, whether they want to or not. Because they invited the comedian, they vetted the material. They’re trying to act like they were some corporate retreat who saw Robin Williams in Flubber and didn’t realize he “worked blue.” That’s BS. This is the guy they wanted, a guy who makes racist jokes that punch down.

And what these staffers are saying now? It’s proof! See, they confirmed to The Bulwark all speakers had to submit their speeches beforehand. After all, they were loaded into a teleprompter, which Hinchcliffe was using. The fact someone saw and asked the comic to cut the C-word joke (which he did) means they were censoring. They did have some standards. But the Puerto Rico joke didn’t bother anyone.

The staffers maintain no one saw the other objectionable material, and it must have been ad-libbed. Yeah, not buying that. We mean, he’s clearly looking at the teleprompter when he’s doing the joke. Do we believe they looked at an insult to the island of Puerto Rico and it didn’t raise a red flag because that’s just the kind of racist trash they say all the time? Yeah, that feels right.

What do YOU think, Perezcious readers??
