Donald Trump has finally spoken about the nationwide protests and unrest surrounding the ongoing issue of police brutality. But he’s not exactly bringing people together.
The President of the United States spoke moments ago on Monday afternoon from the White House, talking directly to the American people about the intense past few days we’ve all experienced.

Unfortunately, nothing Trump said calmed anybody’s nerves. Clearly agitated by the nationwide protests following the death of black Minneapolis resident George Floyd at the hands of the city’s police officers, Trump promised a larger military presence in a bid to “dominate” the protesters.
In his speech, which didn’t even last seven full minutes, the Commander in Chief revealed he was deploying more military resources nationwide to help city governments quell protesters. He also bemoaned how America is a nation of “one beautiful law” while praising the second amendment (?), and promised Washington DC’s 7:00 pm curfew would be strictly enforced. And of course he didn’t take any questions from the press corps he loathes…

Seriously, talk about a President who can’t bring the American people together. Why so divisive and aggressive at a time when he so clearly needs to be mending fences and building bridges??
