Lady Grantham, meet Goofy of House Goof.
Downton Abbey star Elizabeth McGovern poked a little fun at her own show on Sunday, and she did it with a puffy white gloved finger!
Elizabeth was visiting Disney World in Orlando where she graciously agreed to stand for a parody of the iconic Downton imagery (see the original below).
EPCOT’s United Kingdom Pavilion stood in for Highclere Castle while several costumed employees, including Goofy himself, made up the rest of the cast.
Adorable! We love it when worlds collide!
But not everyone found it so charming. The Dowager Countess reportedly responded to the perceived slight:
“When one is goofed on by Goofy himself, one must simply grin and bear it. Wait, Goofy IS a bear, right? Or is he some kind of big dog? Seriously, what’s his deal?”
JK! But seriously, we’d love to hear Maggie Smith give Goofy a good dressing down! Classic!
