ER’s final season got a boost this week with the return of former main character Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards). He is one of several former cast members expected to reappear and take the show out with a bang.
Thursday night’s episode earned a 3.7 rating/10 share among the 18-29 demographic totaling 9.8 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen overnight numbers. That’s a big jump from the 8.6 million viewers the show averaged last week.
Edwards is expected to revisit the set again, but in the form of flashbacks, since Dr. Greene died of a brain tumor in a past season of the show.
The ratings boost helped take NBC to a 3rd place overall, with CBS in 2nd, and ABC in 1st.
