This is one extreme case of mistaken identity…
Treasure Richards is a 16-year-old black girl who believes she is white, and got on Dr. Phil in an attempt to plead her case to her mother about her identity. She gives some delusional reasoning for why she’s not black, which you need to hear (below) to believe (or not).

Looks like the teen might already be attempting to cash in on her appearance, with an alleged Instagram account and YouTube channel talking about her views, mentioning promo opportunities, and even an IG Story where she says Donald Trump has agreed to be on her show. Huh?!

But it might not be exactly what it seems. Someone claiming to be her older sister Nina got some press of her own, speaking out to Essence magazine about her sister and mother’s appearance on the show just to get a free trip to Los Angeles.
She also went on debunking Treasure’s story and spilling some tea about it being “fake”:
“It’s a disgrace to our family and our race. We are a Black family. Very Black. We’re Detroit Black. For my mom to allow this, is a mind f**k to all of us.”
Either way, it sounds like this family could use the help of a therapist!
