Steven Spielberg along with partner Stacey Snider have been lent $825 million by numerous financiers to start DreamWorks Studios!!
J.P Morgan Securities and Reliance Big Entertainment both ponied up $325 mil for the new studio, with the rest of the funding coming from numerous banks.
DreamWorks Studios’ timeline has the company producing around six films a year – the first flick with a 2010 release date.
Spielberg and Snider say the massive loan will allow them to “move ahead quickly into production with [their] first group of films,” including a remake of the 1950’s Jimmy Stewart classic, Harvey, and a Martin Luther King Jr. biopic.
We have no doubt Spielberg’s studio will be able to pay off the $$$$$ once they start cranking out the films!
