Dustin Hoffman Turns To TV

Looks like things are getting rough!

Legendary film actor Dustin Hoffman is set to star in the new HBO series Luck.

The show centers on several eccentric personalities who frequent the horse-racing circuit. Hoffman will play an intelligent, self-taught gambling addict, who just served a 4 year jail sentence. Dennis Farina will portray the driver and companion of Hoffman’s character, who is loosely based on trainer Julio Canani. He has trained three Breeders’ Cup-winning horses and has been on the SoCal racing circuit for decades.

Luck comes from David Milch, who served as the executive producer of HBO’s Deadwood and John From Cincinnati.
