Eating Healthy When You're Young And On The Go!

It’s hard to eat healthy regardless of your schedule, so when a hectic one comes into the mix, it becomes almost impossible!
That is, unless, you have the advice from Caitlin Cooks!
Here’s the FitPerezcious reader’s question:

I’m 18 years old and have a crazy school schedule, like most people my age, where I start and end at different times every day, often have no lunch breaks, etc… How can an 18 year who doesn’t cook her own meals and have a normal eating schedule eat healthily, without taking up too much time?

And here’s Caitlin’s response:

I can totally relate to your crazy schedule! Stock up on snacks and quick lunches on Sunday so you├óΓé¼Γäóre fully prepared for the week! My favorite time to go food shopping is Sunday night around 7PM (when the store dies down) ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ if you go during peak hours, it will stress you out! If you have little snacks throughout the day, you├óΓé¼Γäóll keep your energy level up and you won├óΓé¼Γäót be ravenous at night. Shop for…
– Basics: raisins, apples, carrots, walnuts, almonds, rice cakes, 100-calorie snack packs

For a quick lunch, stock up on whole-grain pita pockets and your favorite sandwich toppings (lettuce, hummus, tomatoes, turkey, peppers, etc). Prepare your sandwich and snacks the night before and you will be all set for your day! Preparation is key!

Great advice, Caitlin! Thanks so much!
