After 36 years, Ed Asner is returning to Hawaii Five-0.
In an incredible announcement for the series, Ed has agreed to reprise his cameo role from the original 5-0 installent in CBS’s remake.
Executive producer Peter Lenkov released a statement confirming the happy news, saying
├óΓé¼┼ôIt is thrilling to, for the first time, merge the original Hawaii Five-0 and our new show by having the classic, versatile and award-winning actor Ed Asner reprise his role of August March, a character Mr. Asner first played 36 years ago. There is no better way to form a bridge between our reboot and the original series.”
We gotta admit – that is pretty rad.
And Ed Asner is still the shiz, even 36 years later!
Such an honor for the show and such a thrill for good old Ed!
