So sad.
Ed Sheeran “married” a terminally ill superfan, Katie Papworth, last week but unfortunately she passed away this morning.
Our favorite red head admitted that he was “devastated” to hear about her passing:

When Ed accepted Katie’s proposal last week, he signed her painting of a LEGO house with a lovely note:
“Dear Katie, lovely to finally meet my wife.”
Ed is just the sweetest.
According to Katie’s mom, the whole meeting was very special:
“Katie took the picture of the lego house she’d made and gave Ed a ring with an infinity symbol. Ed loved her artwork and asked if he could keep it for his wall. He made it really special for her and she’s since said she needs to think about bridesmaids.”
Katie had fought against the brain cancer that she had been battling for 8 years. Our hearts go out to her family and loved ones during this tough time.
