Well, it’s easy for him to say this in retrospect!
As you may recall, Eddie Murphy was originally set to host the Academy Awards this year back when Brett Ratner was scheduled to produce. Then, the director made all those horrible homophobic remarks and resigned, which prompted Eddie to shortly follow suit, and Billy Crystal was called in to take over!
Well, at the junket for his upcoming flick, A Thousand Words, Murphy now claims that while he thought Crystal did a “great job,” the telecast would have been “a little quicker with me driving.”
Oh really, is that right? Even though this year’s ceremony was the shortest in over 30?!
We can imagine it’s a lot easier said than done, given everything that goes into that event!
However, Murphy also says:
“If they ask me again and it comes around, I’m totally open to do. It’s one of the few things that I haven’t done as a comedian. So, yeah, one day.”
Well, we’d certainly like to see him put his money where his mouth is!
Wouldn’t U?
