Eddie Van Halen, quite possibly the world’s greatest guitarist, had to have emergency surgery recently!
The band had to postpone their Japanese concert tour because Eddie needed an emergency procedure on his colon.
Van Halen (the band, not the guy) released a statement:
“Eddie underwent an emergency surgery for a severe bout of Diverticulitis. No further surgeries are needed and a full recovery is expected within 4 – 6 months.”
Diverticulitis is when little pouches form in the walls of the colon get clogged and inflamed.
Gross and painful.
It’s not known how long he’s had this problem but we hope he’s feeling better now.
Van Halen rescheduled their tour for sometime in 2013.
Sorry Japan, but at least Eddie got the treatment he needed.
