'Proud' Elizabeth Banks Giving Off Good Vibes Even After 'Charlie's Angels' Box Office Flop

Elizabeth Banks still proud Charlies Angel's box office flop

Elizabeth Banks is going through a tough time after her attempt at the Charlie’s Angels reboot clearly didn’t resonate with movie-goers at the box office over its opening weekend.

But we’re completely on board with how she’s reacting to this loss — and we have a feeling, with this attitude, something good will come Banks’ way very soon! Honestly, let this be a lesson to all of us in how to deal with failure and setbacks!

When addressing the movie’s disappointing returns for the first time publicly on Monday, Elizabeth commented in a tweet that “if you’re going to have a flop, make sure your name is on it at least 4x” — a snarky reference to the fact that the 45-year-old star wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the film! It’s an impressive achievement, in our minds at least, but as Banks notes the fact the flick flopped in theaters  reflects at least a little poorly on her work.

Still, she found time to look for the positive points in this whole thing, too, as you can see in her full tweet about the film’s reception this past weekend:

Awww! Surprisingly sweet and optimistic, to say the least… we dig it! Good vibes only, y’all!

BTW, in case you were wondering about the actual numbers, Box Office Mojo has Banks’ Charlie’s Angels reboot at $8.6 million earned across North America over this past weekend, when it first premiered in theaters.  Yikes… The film did slightly better around the world, at least, pulling in another $27 million, but still… for whatever reason, the reboot just didn’t resonate!

It’s Still A Win, Elizabeth!

Look, we get it, the raw numbers on the Angels reboot are bad… but in this day and age, a female-directed and produced movie with four (!) female leads is a HUGE achievement! Certainly nothing to hang your hat on, girl!

Besides, when we look back at some of the biggest and most memorable recent box office bombs down throughout the history of the film industry and on into last year… yeah, it’s pretty clear Elizabeth has no reason to worry about her own legacy or the future of her career. These things happen!

What do y’all think about Charlie’s Angels struggling with moviegoers, Perezcious readers?! Where do U stand on the good vibes take on the whole matter?

And maybe most interestingly… what movie bombed big that you actually thought was pretty good?? Hello, Office Space and Shawshank Redemption! What about y’all??
