Elizabeth Edwards has granted the Today show her first TV interview since the separation from her husband of 30 years, John Edwards.
In the segment, which will air Thursday morning, Elizabeth is candid with Matt Lauer about her failed marriage. She even likens herself to Sandra Bullock.
She said:
“I think about Sandra Bullock … . And yet, the stories you hear are not about all those great successes, but about the failure of her marriage. … I thought that’s not who she is. I don’t know her but I assume she wants to reclaim who she is in the same way I want to reclaim who I am
I think he [John] changed over time. I think it was sort of hard for me to see it or admit it for a very long time. But he changed. … And he’s no longer the person who I married. I still admire an enormous number of things about him.”
