A HUGE congratulations to Elizabeth Smart!!
The 24-year-old Brigham Young University senior married her fiance Matthew Gilmour at a Mormon temple in Hawaii over the weekend.
The couple said their “I do”s in a small, intimate wedding in front of family and friends at the Laie Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday.
This is a BIG and positive step for the young woman who was kidnapped from her home in Utah back in 2002, and was kept prisoner for 9 months.
“The bride and groom were beaming as they left the LDS Temple,” said spokesman Chris Thomas, after they celebrated at a private reception and luau on Oahu’s North Shore.
Her father Ed Smart also confirmed the news, saying:
“Yes, Elizabeth did get married today and we are all thrilled.”
As are we.
Her recovery and progress has been absolutely amazing and she truly is a hero and an inspiration to many women.
We are so happy that SHE’S happy! Congrats again!
