She’s only 26-years-old, but she’s gone through so much in her life!
She knows what her aspirations are, but she’s not taking that step just yet!
Elizabeth Smart was recently at the Moms+SocialGood summit in New York City this past Wednesday, and she mentioned how much much she’s looking forward to starting a family with her husband Matthew Gilmour.
Whenever that may be!
Here’s what she said:
“But that is my greatest aspiration ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ to be a mother.”
The abduction survivor isn’t sure how many children she wants just yet. She just knows she wants ’em!
She said:
“I guess we’ll start having kids and see how I handle that and then go from there. I don’t have a predetermined number in my head.”
But why does Elizabeth want children so badly? It’s because of her mother! And she wants to influence her children as much as her mom influenced her! Here’s what Elizabeth said:
“I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my mom. My mom is a hero and has influenced my life more than any other person, and I’d like to have that same influence on my children.”
While she awaits and tries for parenthood, Elizabeth has a lot of things to keep her busy. The inspiring young lady is constantly lobbying for child abduction legislation. She said:
“This is a topic that I’m very passionate about. There are still children out there waiting to be saved. We need to keep our eyes open.”
So true.
Whenever Elizabeth Smart does decide to have children of her own – we know she’ll make a fantastic parent.
We can tell because she’s so obviously a fantastic human being!
