It’s about time!
The Ellen Degeneres Show star was honored at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor!!
Outside, on the red carpet, Ellen joked:
“I’m flattered. It’s fantastic. Of course I think, ‘What took so long? You don’t do it for awards, you do it to make people happy.”
Ha! You know if it were up to us you would’ve won a long time ago!!
Several other celebrities including Jane Lynch, John Krasinski, and Kristen Chenoweth also attended to support their friend in D.C.!
Her lovely wife Portia de Rossi was also there, of course.
She commented:
“I am very, very proud of Ellen. She’s not only the funniest person I know, but she’s such a good person.”
We’re proud of you too!!
Other recent Twain Prize recipients include Bill Cosby and Tina Fey!
You’re in good company, girl!! Congrats again!
