Watch Elon Musk Explain How To Say His Baby's Name To Joe Rogan!

Elon Musk returned to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast on Thursday, a bold move considering what happened last time.

Don’t worry, Tesla stockholders, he didn’t light up a spliff live on air this time. Instead he gave us all just a little more insight into maybe the strangest celeb baby name of all time.

In case you missed it, the tech mogul and baby momma Grimes picked out a name for their son which defies logic, tradition, and quite possibly California law: X Æ A-12.

Thankfully, after some opening congratulations, Joe got right to it and asked the hard-hitting question we all wanted the answer to:

“How do you say the name?”

Hilariously,

“Well, first of all my partner is the one that mostly came up with the name.”

Wait, was Elon trying to throw Grimes under the bus because he was embarrassed? Honestly it’s really hard to tell with this guy…

Joe, to his credit, kept a straight face, congratulating the new momma on her choice, to which the billionaire responded:

“Yeah, she’s great at names.”

Seriously, is he being sarcastic? We can’t tell.

Thankfully he was on the level with the popular podcaster, taking us through it with a step-by-step pronunciation guide:

“I mean it’s just ‘X,’ the letter ‘X.’ And then the Æ is pronounced ‘Ash.'”

This was too much for Joe, who began giggling. Elon responded, possibly sheepishly but we seriously can’t get a read on the guy:

“Yeah…”

But he was a good sport and continued:

“And then ‘A-12’ was my contribution.”

When asked why, the SpaceX CEO’s face finally lit up, answering as his better half had previously attempted to explain on Twitter:

“Archangel 12, the precursor to the SR-71. Coolest plane ever.”

So yes, we are sad to say there is no secret to the pronunciation. You really just have to say each letter and number individually, like reading a damn license plate.

Thankfully the word “Ash” actually sounds like a name and seems a no-brainer for an abbreviation. We can’t imagine finding a spilled juice box on the floor and having to yell out, “X Æ A-12 MUSK, YOU GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW!” LOLz!
