Elton John had a show scheduled for May 18th in Egypt, but due to recent comments he had made about religion, the show has been canceled.
Mounir al-Wasimi, the head of Egypt’s Musician Union, said:
“A homosexual who wants to ban religions, claimed that the prophet Issa (Jesus) was gay and calls for Middle Eastern countries to allow gays to have sexual freedom” cannot perform.
John had recently called Jesus a “super-intelligent gay man” and also said, “I don’t know what makes people so cruel. Try being a gay woman in the Middle East – you’re as good as dead.”
He may not be making any friends, but there is no excuse for this!
Sad.
