Eminem’s new song, Headlights comes with a beautiful video directed by Spike Lee.
The lyrics and video tell a story about Debbie Mathers, the mother of Eminem, or Marshall Mathers.
Em and his momma have been estranged for about 13 years now but Debbie has had enough. She wants her son back.
His momma released a statement that said:
“I just want to give him a big hug. Mama is waiting with open arms. Life is short. Come here, Mama wants a hug.”
When asked for a comment, Eminem’s publicist didn’t confirm or deny whether or not Em had physically met with his momma to make amends or whether or not he ever intends to.
He did say that the rapper addressed everything about his mother and their relationship in the song Headlights.
Debbie co-wrote a book with New York journalist Annette Witheridge called My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem. In it, she tries to dive into the truth behind Eminem, to show the real person.
Witheridge said:
“Nothing would make Debbie happier than if Eminem were to make amends with her. She has longed to have a proper relationship with him for many, many years. I don├óΓé¼Γäót know if she├óΓé¼Γäód like to explain to him what happened when she sued him… but she has never stopped loving him.”
Aww! She’s just a loving momma, missing her son.
If they can both just forgive one another and move past their history, they could maybe have a real relationship!
We hope they can be reunited some day.
