This is definitely a little creepy!
An Israeli student named Naomi Kizhner has set out to solve the problem of ever-depleting battery life — by turning your body into a power source!
She designed three products as a part of her “Energy Addicts” project that can potentially do just that: The Blinker, The E-pulse Conductor, and The Blood Bridge.
And while The Blinker seems to be a pretty non-invasive piece that can collect energy from your blinks, The Blood Bridge actually has to be inserted into the wearers veins so that the blood flow can spin a wheel.
Are you grossed out yet? You’re supposed to be! According to Naomi:
“I wanted to provoke the thought about how far will we go to in order to ├óΓé¼╦£feed’ our addiction in the world of declining resources. There are lots of developments of renewable energy resources, but the human body is a natural resource for energy that is constantly renewed, as long as we are alive. I wanted to explore the post-humanistic approach that sees the human body as a resource├óΓé¼┬ª Will we be willing to sacrifice our bodies in order to produce more energy? My intention is to provoke a discussion.”
Welp, if that’s all she wanted to do, she definitely accomplished that!
