The boys are back in town!
On paper anyway…
Doug Ellin has revealed that he is on page 110 of his screenplay for the Entourage movie and is praying that he’s “gonna finish by Sunday.”
Even though the hit HBO comedy about a couple of friends living the male Hollywood fantasy ended a year ago, the movie will take place 6 months after the final episode. Ellin himself explain in an email to sources:
“There are interesting developments about Ari as a studio head, and that’s still the first page for me. But foremost is the friendship between the guys who are still hanging out and going to fun parties, and it continues with the same characters.”
Mark Wahlberg has been talking this movie up before the finale even aired and his patience is apparently wearing pretty thin with Ellin. The series’ creator jokes:
“[He keeps promising] to kill me if I don’t write faster. Every time I see him, Mark says, ‘I’ve made 5 movies this year. Get going!”
And The Fighter is not someone you want to disappoint!
Still, we’re not getting our hopes up that we’re going to be seeing this any time soon because it sounds like this is a first draft. The network head honchos have only heard ├óΓé¼┼ôa very general pitch├óΓé¼┬¥ for the concept so far and will need to approve his script before they even begin pre-production.
Either way, it sounds like progress is finally being made and we’re looking forward to seeing Adrian Grenier become an actual movie star soon!
