Erin Heatherton Is Totally Okay With Photoshopping

Photoshopping seems to be a really hot button issue for people, which is why Erin Heatherton‘s response surprised us!
While teens are trying to get mags to stop touching up their pics, this Victoria’s Secret Angel isn’t too upset about it.
Heatherton explains:

“I think it├óΓé¼Γäós people├óΓé¼Γäós own prerogative to be able to look at something and know the difference between ├óΓé¼╦£this is what someone looks like with makeup on├óΓé¼Γäó and ├óΓé¼╦£this is what they look like in real life├óΓé¼Γäó… We├óΓé¼Γäóre not selling reality; we├óΓé¼Γäóre selling a story. It├óΓé¼Γäós all about creating this fantasy. And I don├óΓé¼Γäót think people should confuse fantasy and reality because no one is perfect├óΓé¼ΓÇ£we all know that, and I think people should embrace themselves and not really focus on where people are depicted as perfect and where they├óΓé¼Γäóre not. So, I think it├óΓé¼Γäós kind of a waste of time.”

Woah! That’s where people seem to have the problem because they want to look like the models in magazines!
So, what does she think about when bodies are changed, like getting instant lipo in the waist:

“It├óΓé¼Γäós not a fair message, but at the same time I think we├óΓé¼Γäóre all intelligent enough to know the difference between what├óΓé¼Γäós real and what├óΓé¼Γäós not. I think that├óΓé¼Γäós something that children should be taught by their parents, it should be taught in schools. Healthy body image is not something that you├óΓé¼Γäóre going to learn from fashion magazines. But at the same time, Photoshop makes things look beautiful just as you have special effects in movies. It├óΓé¼Γäós just part of life and I think that you├óΓé¼Γäóre missing the main problem. I think the main issue is people just knowing their own body, having strength in their own body image and their own confidence, which shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót be affected by these kinds of things.”

Well, shoot! If we all looked like her, body image wouldn’t be a problem! Ha!
There’s definitely a healthy mix between the two, but hey, she’s a model, of course she want someone to make her look perfect in pics. That bod is the moneymaker!
