We’re not alone in the world!
As the United States overweight and obesity rate has risen to 2/3 of the country, Europe is not far behind with half of adults being in the same boat.
Not that we’re happy to hear this news, but it just proves that obesity is not just an American epidemic, but a world wide one!
In a report on health in the 27-member bloc, the Paris-based Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Brussels-based Commission said the rate of obesity has more than doubled over the past 20 years in most member states.
We feel your pain!
The report linked obesity rates to the rising cost of healthcare, citing a recent study on England which forecast that total costs linked to overweight and obesity could increase by as much as 70 percent between 2007 and 2015.
Wow!
We need to get this under control people!
Maybe Michelle Obama should start working with Europe to promote healthy living and eating to fight this epidemic!
