By now some of you are probably already aware that Eva Mendes is back to her old, slim self just 7 weeks after giving birth to her daughter Esmeralda, which is raising one question in a lot of people’s minds.
How does she do it?!?!
Eva’s rapid transformation has been catching a LOT of people’s attention lately, and she’s revealed she actually does have a little trick up her sleeve — AMAZING genes!!
Obviously nobody will argue that the 40-year-old actress has flawless genes, but she’s also been watching what she eats with a high protein/low carb diet!

Of course, all diets are off when Eva’s mother is in town, as one source reveals:

“For her splurges, her mom’s been cooking her traditional Spanish dishes. Those are her treats. While Ryan is gone, her mom has been spending a lot of time helping her.”

Ha! There’s definitely nothing wrong with some good ole home cookin’ from time to time!
In addition to cutting back on snacks, Eva is also staying fit with some exercise here and there, but she’s being VERY careful to ease herself into it before committing to a routine!
It’s so great to hear that Eva is staying healthy and we definitely can’t argue with the results! Hopefully all of the new mommies out there are taking notes!
