There’s A Reason Eva Mendes Is Taking A Break From The Red Carpet!

Eva Mendes is glowing on Shape!

It feels like forever since we’ve last seen this glowing soul!

But according to Eva Mendes, there’s a very good reason she hasn’t been on the red carpet in months and opted to skip out on awards season as Ryan Gosling celebrated wins with La La Land!

Speaking to Shape magazine for her April feature, the actress admitted:

“What people don’t know about me is that I love being home. Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”

Not like the momma of two even needed to explain herself, but we totally understand wanting to spend as much time with the kiddos as possible!

In case you don’t remember, Eva and Ryan welcomed their second child together, Amada, less than two years after the birth of their oldest daughter Esmeralda.

The designer and businesswoman explained how their beautiful additions have affected her fitness routine:

“I have two babies now, two girls, and before I had them, I actually ran a lot more. I used to really love to run. But I’ve always been into light weights. I really respond to weights and I feel like if I just do cardio, I don’t get the results that I want. So it’s very, very important for me to add weights into my workout. So I do a lot of jumps, squats├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥a lot of squats├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥lunges, and then intervals of like, sprinting within that. I have a really amazing person I work with, a trainer.”

Well, she looks amazing on the cover (above)!!

Interestingly enough though, the multitasking momma stars on the front page with a thick gold band on her ring finger, but in one shot from her spread of her wearing the exact same outfit, Eva rocks a thin gold band…

All this after it was rumored she and Ryan tied the knot!

Of course, it’s possible both rings were options in the styling department and someone forgot to check the pics for continuity… but what if??

Anywho, Mendes continued to speak fitness in her interview:

“In some ways, it’s been more challenging to get back in shape after my second daughter. Yet it’s not as hard as I thought it would be, because I’m always running around with the kids. I never sit down — I’m on the move all day. And I don’t keep junk food at home anymore, because I’m trying to set a good example. So there are no more Krispy Kremes for me to grab. But there is this app called Postmates that delivers whatever you want in minutes. It’s almost as bad as having the food in your kitchen. Don’t laugh, but they’re on the way here right now!”

No judgment!!

As the 43-year-old dished, being able to work out is just one of the ways she’s taking care of herself:

“Working out allows me to spend time on myself. Knowing that I have an hour to dedicate to my wellness is a priority for me now… I’m off-season right now, so I work out three days a week. But when I’m getting ready for an event or in the summer, it’s five days a week. I don’t exercise more than that though, because I see better results when my body has a rest period.”

But just like anyone else, Ryan’s lady love also has her weaknesses: Cadbury eggs, sweets, and Cuban food!

“The mini ones and the big ones with the filling. My mom makes me the best black beans in the world. I’ll never stop devouring them… Sweets are my thing. It’s ongoing, and I have to manage my sugar cravings constantly. I’ve gotten used to having something sweet after every meal, so I’m always bartering with myself, ‘No, no, I can’t have that after dinner, but maybe I can have it after lunch instead.’ The kid in me thinks, ‘I work out, so I can support my sugar habit.’ I know that’s not a very wise thing to say, but I really do feel like I’m working it off!”

It’s all about balance, right??
