Ewan McGregor thinks he’s giving his estranged wife too much money in spousal support amid their ongoing divorce battle.
The actor filed new court docs claiming that he has been “voluntarily contributing to the living expenses” for his estranged wife, Eve Mavrakis, and their children since he has not been ordered to pay child and spousal support.

The couple, who filed for divorce in January after ending their 22 year relationship in May of last year, filed a joint document in their divorce acknowledging Ewan’s payments.
But now, the Fargo star wants to pay less — and his ex isn’t happy about it.
Apparently, Eve and Ewan don’t agree on whether or not his financial support has been sufficient. He argues in the docs that his payments did “exceed what should have been his support obligation,” while Eve claims they “were less than what her support payments should have been.”
It’s clear the family has a lot to work out. Earlier this year, the couple’s daughter Esther McGregor penned a song shading her dad about leaving their family for actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
Despite Esther’s distain, Ewan requested joint custody of the 16-year-old and her siblings, Jamyan, 16, and Anouk, 7.
