Perezito.com‘s educational expert Dr. Kim Har of Aristotle Circle NYC is back with some more parenting/educating tips.
And she has five tips you can use this summer to boost your child’s grades.
Dr. Har says:
Just because school is out during the summer, doesn’t mean your child’s learning as to stop.
Field trips: Use summer trips to the zoo, museums, the beach and other places to explore the environment and identify or see if your child can identify all the objects on site. Vocabulary is an extremely important part of learning to read and write well.
Summer reading programs: Enroll your son or daughter in a summer reading incentive program, many libraries, ice cream parlors or other family restaurants give children an incentive to read throughout the summer.
Keeping stats at baseball games: If your child is a sports fan, he or she might enjoy
keeping track of each play during a neighborhood or professional game you attend.
Beach buildings: Play a castle building game with your child that uses specific numbers of shells, turrets and other details. As you build ask your child to count the features. For example, “How many towers should our castle have? How many towers does it have now?”
Lemonade stand: This summertime classic involves multiplying ingredients, adding customer totals, making change and subtracting costs from revenue to find profit.
Great ideas!
