Quick Tip from Perezitos.com’s Dr. Peter L. Richel, M.D., Chief of Pediatrics at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mt. Kisco:
“In addition to being supportive of you, the father-to-be must prepare for parenthood as well. He should take some time to do his own reading about how to care for a newborn. Ask your obstetrician about the availability of prenatal classes, usually offered by his or her office or at your local hospital. Also avail yourselves of a tour of the labor and delivery suite at the hospital where you plan to give birth. Being in good physical shape is important for both of you, as nights can be demanding in the first few weeks of your baby’s life with you. Get him to exercise with you.”
