Want to play sick, instead of actually being sick?
Perezitos‘s nutrition expert Margaux has some incredible nutrition tips for teens (and adults!) that will help keep you healthy AND free pAAArty during skip-day!
The best part is, it’s not expensive and it’s d-lish!!
Here’s what Margaux has to say:
Dust of your parents juicer and put it to good use!
As a teen, it can be challenging to incorporate the recommended daily amount of fruits and vegetables into your diet. From classes to studying to sports practice, sometimes eating healthy just isn’t in the front of your mind!
Juicing is a great way for your body to absorb all of the beneficial nutrients from organic produce. Such nutrients help with digestion, cardiovascular health, clear skin, immunity boosting, cell renewal and regrowth. Juicing also ensures that the body is getting sufficient amounts of substances in plants that are considered among the most powerful ways to fight disease. Train yourself to get in the habit of making fresh juice every morning. You can even get a travel cup to take the smoothie with you to school.
Here is one of my favorite juice recipes that is delicious and easy to make. It is loaded with health promoting nutrients that include vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and beta-carotene. It can give you a natural boost of energy while helping to boost your immunity:
Cinnamon Ginger Pear Juice
§ 3-4 organic pears
§ 1/2 in fresh ginger root
§ 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Add all ingredients to a juicer and juice until smooth. Serve in a tall glass and enjoy!
